The UK government has been considering extending gender pay gap reporting to employers with fewer than the current threshold of 250 staff – and increasing authorities’ powers of enforcement.

Sam Smethers is the Chief Executive of the Fawcett Society and has worked for the Equal Opportunities Commission and the Equalities and Human Rights Commission and was part of the panel discussing what happens next with gender pay gap reporting at Eversheds Sutherland’s HQ in London.

Nick Bishop, who was at the time of filming Head of Corporate Strategy at Golin UK, also sat on the panel – Golin is an award-winning, global, progressive public relations agency.

Joining them on the panel was Dan Robertson, Director at Vercida Consultancy – an expert on unconscious bias and inclusive leadership.

The panel was chaired by Dr Jana Javornik, Director of the Noon Centre for Equality and Diversity in business.
